ABOUT JOEY
Joey is a 2020 graduate of UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Economics and Film/Media Studies. Due to this course of study and mentorship throughout college by On The Wave Producer, Harry Rabin, Joey enjoyed developing a strong educational background in both the creative and business processes of video production.
Joey has a passion—since childhood—for outdoor adventure and wildlife filmmaking. To date, he has climbed four of the Seven Summits (Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Aconcagua, and Denali) and has worked on personal video projects in Alaska, Iceland, the Arctic Circle, along the Mediterranean, and throughout his home state of California. He has been an assistant on projects filming a wide variety of wildlife both on land and sea including Great White Sharks at Guadalupe Island in Mexico and Orcas in Skjervøy, Norway.
Since graduating, Joey has spent the majority of his time as a field assistant for natural history documentary focused on American wildlife and National Parks. He continues to work at OTW as an Associate Producer and hopes to develop more content about human interactions with nature and the beauty of the world’s wild places.
